LOCATION

A launch site will be chosen for all flights after Weather and Wind Forecasts have been received. As Hot Air Balloons have no steering the site choice will keep us clear of hills, built up areas and any other area that will cause difficulty for landing and recovery.

Monteith House

Monteith House is a stunning Tudor Gothic style Mansion set in stunning surroundings on the banksof the River Clyde near Carstairs. We fly from the lawn to the rear of the building which must be one of the most beautiful launch sites in the country and it is a privelidge to fly from here. At present the House is a Nursing Home so we would ask clients to please keep this in mind and conduct themselves accordingly. On entering Carstairs village from East or West drive around the village green and take the road by the Co Op and follow this road down under the railway bridge and keep to the left. The entrance will say private road but please carry on for 1.2 miles and you will arrive at the front of the House.

Shieldhill Castle Hotel

Shieldhill Hotel is on Shieldhill Road Quothquan, approximately 3 miles from the centre of Biggar. Coming from the west turn left and from the east turn right by Remax-Clydesdale onto the B7016 for two miles and you will see the sign for the Hotel. Coming from the North you will travel approximately 6 miles from Carnwath on the B7016 and you will see the sign for the Hotel. Accommodation and meals are available.

Glenholm Wildlife Project

This is our latest and most exciting launch site nestling in the bottom of the stunning Glenholm Valley. Traveling from the North on the A701 approximately 1 mile south of Broughton you will turn right into Glenholm and from the South turn left. The centre is just along on the right. Accommodation and meals are available.

Biggar Showground

The Showground sits to the east of Biggar on the right hand side of the A702 heading towards Edinburgh. There are two large red gates at the entrance.

Broomlee Centre - West Linton

Broomlee Centre is on the outskirts of the village of West Linton which lies on the A702. On entering the village fom North or South turn down into the village passed the Gordon Arms Hotel. Drive through the village and Broomlee will sit on the right about half a mile outside the village.

Valley International Park - Crossford

Valley International Park is on the banks of the River Clyde within the village of Crossford. Crossford is on the A72 Clyde Valley Tourist Route. On entering the village from east or west you will be looking for the road for Braidwood. This road will take you over the river and as soon as you cross it you will take first right and that is you on the road up to the car park.
